Solution-focused therapy techniques were used on several patients in the Veterans Administration Medical Center's acute psychiatric services section in Hampton, VI. After explaining the objectives of solution-focused therapy, several volunteers were asked to imagine the first thing they would change if their problems disappeared. The patients responded positively and soon showed minor emotional improvement after several sessions.
