Categories of racism are increasing in the US as more Americans recognize the multiplicity of people in the country. However, distinctions are also decreasing between these categories as Asian and Latin American immigrants and their descendants increase their presence in the US. Multiplication of these categories also reflect people's growing realization of race as a social and not a biological construct.
