The Secretary shall collect and publish statistics concerning the - (1) amount of cotton ginned; (2) quantity of raw cotton consumed in manufacturing establishments of every character; (3) quantity of baled cotton on hand; (4) number of active consuming cotton spindles; (5) number of active spindle hours; and (6) quantity of cotton imported and exported, with the country of origin and destination.
Historical And Revision Notes Based on title 13, U.S.C., 1952 ed., Sec. 71 (Apr. 2, 1924, ch. 80, Sec. 1, 43 Stat. 31; June 18, 1929, ch. 28, Sec. 21, 46 Stat. 26). "Secretary" was substituted for "Director of the Census" to conform with 1950 Reorganization Plan No. 5, Secs. 1, 2, effective May 24, 1950, 15 F.R. 3174, 64 Stat. 1263.
