Summary


Although the Augusta area saw few lasting effects from Hurricane Charley's destructive winds and rain last week, the Category 4 hurricane wrecked parts of Florida's southwestern coast, leaving thousands without power, shelter and clean water.

Eager to help, Augusta businesses, organizations and residents are providing supplies and financial donations to local relief agencies to assist the thousands of Florida residents displaced or affected by the hurricane.
