The modern action figure had its start, more or less, with G.I. Joe in the 1960s. We called them "dolls" then, but they were dolls boys weren't ashamed to play with. Major Matt Mason, Captain Action and a few other characters joined the Joe bandwagon, leading to some Mego figures and other vaguely superheroish stuff. It wasn't much, to tell the truth, but we comics fans were grateful and didn't dream of more.So Many Action Figures, so Little Time
Fast-forward 40 years, and the comics fan of yesteryear would be dumbfounded by the cornucopia available today. Entire aisles at major retail stores are crammed with figures - Star Wars, Batma...
