A good-hearted family film seems a stretch for the director who fed his native Britain to zombies in 28 Days Later and made unlikely heroes out of unrepentant heroin addicts in Trainspotting.

Still, Millions, Danny Boyle's stylish but never cynical story of two British brothers coping with the loss of a parent and a very large bag of cash, not only engages and entertains but also eliminates many of the constraints that often marginalize the genre.
