Obituaries

Ryan Wayne Bengert, 28, of Independence, Mo., formerly of Evansville, passed away on Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, of smoke inhalation during a house fire in Independence.

While living in Evansville, Ryan worked at Zeidler's Flower Shop. He worked as a chef in Independence. Ryan loved his family, especially his Mom, Linda; his sister, Charity; and his Aunt Jean.

Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Bessie Bengert, and Walter Bengert Jr.; and by his uncle, Mike Bengert.

Surviving Ryan are his mother and stepfather, Linda and Jack Buehrer of Independence; his sister, Charity Bengert of Independence; his father, Larry Bengert of Florida; his Aunt Jean Bengert of Evansville; his grandparents, Norma Jones and J.L. Martin, both of Missouri; his half sister, Lori Ann Porter of St. Joseph, Mo.; his half brother, Christopher Bengert of Missouri; his godmother, Janice Wedding of Evansville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, with Sister Jenny Miller, O.S.B. offi...
