As older workers retire, employers have to find new ways to appeal to younger workers, said Ed Barlow, president of Michigan- based Creating the Future Inc.

It is forecasted that because of an aging population, we may not have enough workers to fill the jobs that employers will have, said Barlow. Therefore, an employer is going to have to make sure they've got good retention practices in place.
