Back in 1994, when Enron was still a rising star and it seemed the future for energy companies lay squarely in its hands, Robert Catell presided over a funeral for Brooklyn Union Gas.
Catell, the company's newly coronated CEO, was convinced that utilities had to transform into energy companies as deregulation opened the industry to competition.Former Monk, Ceo Bring Spiritual Message to Keyspan Workers
As part of that transformation, he convinced the Brooklyn Union Gas board to rename the company simply Brooklyn Union.
