Sales of $362 Million, Up 24%; Operating Income of $62 Million,

Up 22%; Diluted EPS of $0.30, Up 22%

ADC Telecommunications, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADCT; www.adc.com) today reported record sales of $362 million for the third fiscal quarter ended July 31, 1998, an increase of 24% over the $293 million in the comparable quarter of 1997. The increase in sales reflects strong growth in the Broadband Connectivity, Systems Integration and Wireless Systems product groups, combined with continued growth in the Business Broadband and Residential Broadband product groups. International sales were 20% of total sales in this year's third quarter compared to 19% in the third quarter of 1997.
