Volunteers of America recently celebrated the grand opening of Sumby Senior Housing, a new housing community for low-income seniors in River Rouge. The 55-unit housing community represents Volunteers of America's first effort to provide quality, affordable housing for seniors in River Rouge. Volunteers of America is one of the largest nonprofit providers of affordable housing in the country, and the development of Sumby Senior Housing is part of a national effort to address the country's affordable housing crisis for low-income seniors, families and people with disabilities.
