LYNDHURST - A travel agent has been accused of ripping off more than $100,000 from 53 customers, many of whom have been waiting months for airline tickets that never arrived.
Rita Connolly, the owner of the Sunrise Sunset travel agency in Lyndhurst, was charged Tuesday in a municipal courtroom packed with angry customers, who said they paid Connolly $200 to $6,800 with nothing to show for it.Travel Agent Accused of Theft ; Allegedly Took $100,000, Left 53 Clients in Lurch
Most of the tickets had been sold since March, to customers from Brooklyn to Paterson.
