"I would estimate that I looked at about 10 percent of what [Jeff Davies] created," [Don DesChamps] said. "I knew there would be a lot of work out there that we weren't going to be able to track down. We were able to contact people like Charlie Baker and Peter Wynn who collected Jeff's work. They loaned some pieces for the show, and that was a very positive development."

Even though the exhibit is a relatively small one, it is in no way fragmented. It moves from "The First Annual Steamboat Eating Marathon," a large work with a comic, absurdist flavor, to "Thomas Edison and Suzanne Somers Invent the Light Bulb," which offers a sardonic take on advertising and mass consumption. There are pieces like "The House of Too Much Pasta," in which a red substance oozes from a seemingly everyday abode.
