Beef steer weigh-in for fair entries is Jan. 17
WOOSTER -- Anyone planning to exhibit a steer in Wayne County's 2009 Junior Fair market steer program must have their animals weighed and tagged on Jan. 17, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Producer's Livestock Association, 256 S. Main St., Creston. Members do not need to be present, but carcass steers and heifers, dairy steers and beef steers must be tagged on this day for Wayne County Fair participation. No bull calves will be tagged. All calves must be castrated prior to weigh-in or will be ineligible. Calves should also be dehorned and haltered before check-in.Briefs
Hoof trimming will be available for $25 a head. Each member may weigh two beef steers, two dairy steers and two carcass steers or heifers.
