Trailing 14-7 in the fourth game of Wednesday night's Class 4A East Region semifinal volleyball match against fourth-seeded Thomas Stone High School, host Broadneck was in serious danger of facing a fifth game. With their backs against the wall, the youthful Bruins, who have only four seniors on the roster, showed age beyond their years, rallying to score 18 of the next 25 points to defeat the pesky Cougars, 3-1, and claim their spot in last night's region final at home against South River.

Broadneck, the No. 1 seed, moved to 14-1 on the season with the hard-fought 25-16, 24-26, 25-12, 25-21 win.
