Hurricane High School's Red Hot Show Choir recently traveled to Fairfield, Ohio, to compete in the 10th Annual Crystal Classic Show Choir Invitational. The event hosted several of the top ranked show choirs in the country and was held on March 1, at Fairfield High School. A total of 25 choirs from Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Alabama and West Virginia participated.

All choirs performed their competition show for the daytime judging, and the six highest scoring choirs were asked to perform again for the evening's Finals Competition. As in every competition this season, Red Hot qualified for the Finals. They were awarded Overall Third Runner Up for the event. For the third competition in a row, Red Hot's own Rachel Krall was awarded Best Female Vocalist of all choirs participating. For the second time this year, Casey Edwards was awarded Best Performer for Red Hot.
