MINSTER -- After 170 years, the old house on Ohio 66 just north of downtown did not want to go gently.
Built around 1836 using medieval German construction techniques, the structure's oak beams and pegs seemed to want to stand for another century. Only by dint of crowbars, hammers and a large crane did the building come apart-- delicately and quietly -- piece by piece.Historic House Is Dismantled, Gently, to Await Reconstruction ; a New Bremen Engineer Will Store the Parts of the House in His Barn Until the Time Comes to Reassemble Them.
