NORFOLK - Donald Glynn Gaylord Sr., 80, of the 1100 block of George St., died Aug. 7, 2009, at Sentara Leigh Hospital. Born in Ransomville, N.C., he was a waterworks inspector for the City of Norfolk and retired from there.

He is survived by his brother, Russell Gaylord (Iola) of Glen Alpine, N.C.; three daughters, JoAnn Mueller (Dave) of Denver, Colo., Ruby Pfleger (Keith) of Smithfield, Va., and Donna Ellis (Richard) of Norfolk; one son, Donald Gaylord Jr. (Lisa) of Virginia Beach; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
