Believing that Christians must be intentional in efforts to reach across racial and cultural lines, Women of Pittsburgh 2000 formed Interracial Sisters Groups, consisting of three women from a predominantly Black church paired with three women from a predominantly white church. The six members of each Sister Group meet bi-monthly to build relationships, pray together, and establish honest dialogue that increases cross-cultural understanding.
The signature fund-raiser of Women of Pittsburgh 2000 is the Ebony & Ivory Ball, which was held in 2001, 2002, and 2004. The next Ebony & Ivory Ball is scheduled for the spring of 2006. Women of Pittsburgh 2000 is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit charitable organization, supported by fundraising through churches, individuals, and proceeds from the Ebony and Ivory Ball.Dr. Gloria; a Healthy Walk
