Senior Airman Timothy Alford of Easton didn't see himself as a warrior, but he served his country proudly as an Air Force firefighter and air crew rescue specialist at a strategic base in Germany.

He and two fellow airmen out for a few days of sightseeing in Europe died in a car accident in Belgium, his parents said. A fourth airman was seriously injured.
