ROCKLAND - An alleged drunken driver knocked over two new granite benches on the sidewalk outside the Strand Theatre on Tuesday morning, causing a couple of thousand dollars' damage to the seats, police said.

Zachary Titus, 20, of Thomaston was arrested on numerous charges, including operating under the influence of alcohol, according to Deputy Police Chief Wallace Tower.
