Sierra High School received a $291,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education this week to help show students what's possible after high school.
The grant will be paid out over three years; by 2006-07, Principal Bryan Wright said he hopes to have a freshman academy, a sophomore academy and several career academies.Grant Helps School Develop Programs ; Sierra High Seeks to Let Students Explore Post-High School Options
The term "academy" does not refer to separate buildings but to special classes and mentoring the students will have.
