Melting of glaciers
Climatic factors have resulted in rising temperatures across the globe, causing the shrinking of mountain glaciers due to melting. The melting of mountain glaciers will remove all evidence of past environmental and climatic changes which are used for studying the climate and the environment. The melting water from the glaciers have increased the sea levels, and it is observed that a rise in temperature by three degrees Celsius by the year 2050 will cause the sea levels to rise by eight inches. However, the melting water can be used for irrigation, hydroelectric and drinking water supply.Icy indicators of global warming.
