The West Virginia Humanities Council hosts the Imam Jamal Daoudi of the Islamic Association of West Virginia at 2 p.m. Sunday at the MacFarland-Hubbard House in Charleston. The Imam Daoudi will deliver a presentation titled "Islam: More in Common Than You Think" that will conclude the Little Lecture Series for this year.
The imam, or spiritual leader, will introduce basic Muslim beliefs while discussing the similarities and differences between Islamic and Christian religions. The Imam Daoudi was born in Damascus. Since coming to the state in early 2002, he has been the imam of the Islamic Association of West Virginia. He has authored articles on religion and is an active participant and organizer of interfaith events and workshops.Imam to Discuss Islamic, Christian Religions
