According to Jeffrey T. Kuhner, President Obama "will lead the United States to defeat, disgrace and ruin" ("The Obama doctrine," Opinion Web, Saturday). This news is hardly surprising, given that Americans were forewarned during the presidential campaign of Mr. Obama's radical political agenda.

Yet the Democrats and their media sympathizers turned a blind eye to the facts - his unsavory alliances with the likes of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. and William Ayers - so as to convince voters that he was the "messiah." Did it not matter to the American people that he spent 20 years at a church that is notorious for its anti- American and anti-Semitic vitriol?
