John Michalski (letter, Aug. 20) attempts to say that it is Barack Obama and the worst-rated Congress ever who want to "rescue" us. This is absolutely ludicrous.

He should just look at his paycheck. On every one, the government takes from hardworking Americans by "withholding," aka stealing money from their paychecks to fund its ever-increasing list of wants, most notably our failed Social Security program that politicians have robbed year after year.
