I was very offended by Mr. [Bennett]'s cartoon in Sunday's Perspective Section (Aug. 16). It was highly insulting to Zach Wamp, who has a reputation for always trying to do the right thing for his constituents, his state, and his country. People who aren't familiar with Congressman Wamp would be wrongly misled by the cartoon into thinking he isn't qualified to be a candidate for governor.
They are leaving their grandchildren so undereducated they won't know how much debt they are in. Their jobs are being outsourced so they won't have any money. They will be so dependent on prescription drugs; insurance and drug companies will rob them blind as they are doing to us now, and they are leaving them so dependent on foreign oil they probably won't be able to survive anyway.I understand Sunday's cartoon expressed Mr. Bennett's opinion, which may be shared by a few others, but not me and many others. If people would take time to meet Congressman Wamp or talk to people who know him, his experience and accomplishments, his values, his goals, his commitmen and most of all, his passion to do what's right, then I truly believe he will have no trouble becoming the next governor of Tennessee.Letters to the Editors
