Minnesota and Mississippi both have enacted more stringent regulations concerning lobbying activities in the current session. In Minnesota, lawmakers are prohibited from accepting gifts, but lobbyists are required to report any expenses exceeding $5. Meanwhile, Mississippi solons have approved what is described as the 'toughest lobbying reporting' legislation in the country.
