WASHINGTON -- Navistar International is touting a new line of mine-resistant trucks as a safer alternative to uparmored Humvees being used in Iraq and is asking for support from key members of Congress to get the trucks out to servicemen in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The trucks, which are produced in Garland, Texas, have a V- shaped hull design engineered to better resist IEDs than uparmored Humvees, according to company spokesmen.
