Curt Schilling will head to Houston tomorrow, but the Red Sox pitcher has decided not to pitch in the 75th All-Star Game on Tuesday. It is a precautionary move because of the lingering bone bruise in his right ankle.
Schilling, who is 11-4 with a 3.16 ERA in 18 starts, will take part in All-Star festivities, but he doesn't want to risk further injury to the ankle by pitching in the exhibition. The six-time All- Star, who allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings against Oakland on Thursday, isn't scheduled to make his first start after the break until Sunday in Anaheim.
