COLUMBUS -- The Ohio Senate on Wednesday voted 29-4 for Gov. Bob Taft's plan to spend $13.2 million to train more teachers in math, science and foreign languages, part of his effort to better prepare high school students in Ohio for college and the work place.
Sen. Randy Gardner, R-Bowling Green, said this was a first step in achieving Taft's "Ohio Core" initiative that also would increase high school graduation requirements, starting with the class of 2011.Senate Oks Taft Plan to Spend $13.2m to Train More Math, Science Teachers
