GUILFORD - William Thompson, 63, who has been teaching physical science in SAD 4 schools for more than 40 years, is one of six semifinalists named for the Maine Teacher of the Year award.

Thompson said he appreciates the honor. "I was overwhelmed at the support from my colleagues," he said Friday.
