-- Quarterly revenues and adjusted EBITDA adversely impacted by

trade show timing shifts, persistent weakness in tech and

manufacturing marketing spending

-- Year-to-date net loss of $87.8 million compares with loss of

$286.3 million in 2002

-- Year-to-date adjusted EBITDA increases 76% from $14.5 million

in 2002 to $25.5 million; adjusted EBITDA margin doubles to

12.4%

Penton Media, Inc. (OTCBB:PTON), a diversified business-to-business media company, today reported a net loss for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2003, of $12.0 million compared with net income of $12.8 million in the year-ago quarter. Revenues for the fourth quarter of $47.3 million compared with $63.8 million in the year-ago quarter. Adjusted EBITDA was $3.1 million compared with $5.3 million in the 2002 period.
