Five days after Everett's school superintendent and maintenance manager were indicted in an alleged bid-rigging scheme, the school committee voted last night to let them remain on the job, prompting the mayor and dozens of others to walk out in disgust.

"This tells our children it's OK to steal and then lie about it because you can get away with it," said David Vitale, a father of two.
