When Denver coach George Gwozdecky and strength and conditioning coach Mike Sanders met before the summer, they decided it was time to add some punch to the Pioneers' summer training regimen.

Boxing not only provides a great cardiovascular workout, Gwozdecky said, but it also gave his players a chance to demonstrate mental toughness.
