Wilbur C. Brown II, 44, of Oberlin, Dauphin County, admitted Wednesday to the July 2004 attack on a gas station attendant and an October 2004 attack on a woman outside an office complex. Both assaults occurred in Cranberry Township, about 25 miles north of Pittsburgh.

The gas station clerk, Sara Reedy, sued Butler County, its prosecutors and Cranberry Township last year, claiming she was falsely arrested when authorities doubted her story of being robbed and sexually assaulted. Police charged Reedy, 21, of Cranberry, with lying to authorities, but dropped the case when authorities said Brown admitted to sexually assaulting her.

Thomas C. Hull, who pleaded guilty Tuesday, "was having a lot of marital problems and psychological strife," said his defense attorney, Robert Davis Gleason. "He should have gone and sought counseling."
