LAS VEGAS - The Red Sox have presented a contract offer to Jason Varitek, said agent Scott Boras yesterday at the winter meetings. The deal is believed to be for two years, although the terms remain under wraps.
Varitek made $10.4 million last year, which was one of his worst offensive seasons but another strong one defensively, especially working with the Red Sox pitching staff.
