The year ended on a sour note for residential building permits, which reached a 15-year low, according to the Homebuilders Association of Dayton.

The number of permits issued last year fell 25.8 percent, to 1,842 permits, compared to 2,484 permits in 2007, the association said. The yearend figures were released Friday, Jan. 16.
