Barbershop director Tim Story shifts from stylists to superheroes, having been tapped to helm The Fantastic Four for 20th Century Fox. The Marvel Comics adaptation follows the adventures of Reed and Sue Richards, Benjamin Grimm and Johnny Storm - better known to comics fans as Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Thing and the Human Torch. The studio is pursuing The Shield 's Michael Chiklis to play the role of the Thing, Variety reported. Internet buzz has Oscar-winner Tim Robbins in the running to play villain Dr. Doom. Filming is scheduled to begin as early as August for a planned July 1, 2005, release.
