BUCKSPORT - The Verso Paper mill will shut down three of its four papermaking machines for two weeks at the end of this week, idling part of its 800-employee work force.

Mill officials plan to keep one machine, the No. 5 papermaking machine, in operation during the shutdown, according to mill spokesman Bill Cohen. It is unclear at this point how many employees will be affected by the shutdown, Cohen said.
