Below is a list of activities scheduled during October at the Main Library in Charleston and at Glasgow, Marmet and Riverside libraries. All programs are free unless otherwise noted. Pre- registration is often required, so check with the respective library regarding the event of interest. All Four Locations Family Read Aloud Club Oct. 23-March 31 KCPLs Family Read Aloud Club is a program that invites parents to read aloud to their children during the school year. The aim of the program is twofold: for families to spend quality time together and to promote lifelong literacy. Registering for the program is as simple as A-B-C! Just visit your local library to enroll in the program. You will receive a game sheet and program guidelines. Your family will have until March 31 to read up to 18 books. Rewards of the program, in addition to those mentioned above, include receiving as many as three free books and participating in a special library sleepover to be held at the Dunbar Branch Library on April 20. For more information, contact the Childrens Department at the Main Library in Charleston at 343-4646. Families of school-age children
Multiple Locations Sunday Service The Main Library and St. Albans Branch Library have begun winter hours; both libraries will be open on Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. through April.Spooky Doings Afoot at Libraries
