For 2007, the finalists for Tennis Server Player of the Year were Roger Federer, [Justine Henin], and Andy Roddick. Both Federer and Henin had exceptional years atop the men's and women's rankings, re-* spectively. While Andy Roddick did not have an outstanding year by his past standards as a singles player, he played an exceptional role as a team member and leader in bringing about the U.S.A.'s first Davis Cup victory in 12 years. By a slender margin, Justine Henin was chosen to receive the 2007 designation. [Ray Bowers] notes, "The consistent successes of Justine throughout the year and especially in the second half against the world's top female superstars in my view requires that she be chosen.
