With 1,046 registrants, including bankers, vendors and guests, the Texas Bankers Association's 121st Annual Convention and Exposition last month in San Antonio was its largest since 1989 - when the convention was also in San Antonio. Drawing cards included featured speakers retired Army General Tommy Franks, and former San Antonio Spurs star David Robinson. Geneneral Franks led forces in both Afghanistan and Iraq, and was commander in chief of the US Central Command from 2000 to 2003. Robinson -The Admiral - led the Spurs to two NBA championships and is now a leading philanthropist in San Antonio.
