Longtime Dayton performer Teri Lupp tried out but didn't get cast for La Comedia's current production of the Disney musical Beauty and the Beast. She's anything but beastly about it as a result. She plans to see the show several times before it closes Aug. 28.

She has a grandson, Adam Lupp, 10, in the cast. A fifth-grader at St. Charles School in Kettering this fall, he's sharing the role of Chip with Joey Luthman, 8, who attends Holy Angels School in Dayton. They each do four shows a week as the talking boy's face inside a china cabinet the character Mrs. Potts wheels about the stage.
