Troy's Allison Zelnick helped the Fair Valley Swim Club to a third-place finish in the 10-team Greater Dayton Swimming Association championships July 19 at Woodhaven Swim Club in Beavercreek.
Fair Valley, made up of swimmers ages 6-18 from northern Montgomery and southern Miami counties, scored 298 points. Four Seasons Swim Club (Kettering, Centerville) was first with 328, and two-time defending champion Pinecrest Swim Club of Xenia was second at 328. Zelnick, who will be a junior at Troy High School, won the 50- meter freestyle for girls ages 15-18 in 28.10 seconds. She was also on the winning 200 medley relay team and 200 freestyle team.
The GDSA meet was one of three summer league meets held earlier this month. Dunsinane (located in Centerville) used team depth at most of the age groups to pile up 2,114 points in the South Suburban Association meet, 246 better than the Woodhaven team from Centerville. Dani Barbiea (Springboro High School) was Dunsinane's top scorer, swimming on two first place relays in the 15-18 age group and setting a meet record while winning the 50 freestyle.The Five Seasons 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams of Chase Doman, Maxi Litvinov, Dan Glaser-Garbrick and Timothy Wibowo set meet and association records in winning both events.Doman, a June graduate of Oak...Try vLex for FREE for 3 days
