A fire that destroyed Macaluso's Shoe Repair late last month is not believed to have been intentionally set. The cause remains undetermined and is likely to remain a mystery due to the extensive damage, investigators said Thursday.

Capt. Richard Podgers, chief of detectives, said several people were interviewed shortly after the fire June 30 at 93 Locust St., including an evicted tenant who had threatened to burn the place down and a neighbor who was upset with the owner.
