As the new chief financial officer at inVentiv Communications, Rick Smith is more than just the guy who works in the a "back office." Smith began his career in banking and retail, working in various financial roles. He came to inVentiv in 2000, after interviewing with then-CEO (and now president of inVentiv Health) Blane Walter. Now, as a result of organic growth and acquisitions, the company has just under 20. Smith is charged with managing that anticipated growth, a role he relishes.
