Uzbekistan Introduces Changes To The Mining Industry

The list of non-metallic deposits has been approved and the term for obtaining a license for exploration has been shortened in Uzbekistan.

Subsoil containing non-metallic minerals are licensed for:

Geological exploration Mining Use of technogenic mineral formations. According to the Presidential Decree as of January 17, 2018, the period for considering an application for obtaining a license to use subsoil plots containing non-metallic minerals has been reduced to 20 days.

In accordance with the Presidential Decree as of February 20, 2019, "On measures for the fundamental improvement and integrated development of the building materials industry," starting from April 1, 2019, this period is halved for licenses for geological exploration.

In addition, the decree approved the List of non-metallic mineral deposits (plots) for the industrial development of which investments are attracted, including foreign investments (Appendix No. 2). This List establishes 275 deposits (plots) for the following types of raw materials:
