PATIENTS needing urgent hospital treatment in Taranaki are facing some of the longest waiting times in the country.

A Ministry of Health report for the quarter ending September 2003 shows the Taranaki District Health Board (TDHB) emergency departments are the third worst performers when dealing with triage one (those in need of resuscitation) patients.
