It was easy for me to picture Dr. Paul Kretschmar as a frontier doctor, extracting the bullet from some unlucky gunfighter and admonishing him to "get up and get going. Don't sit around feeling sorry for yourself."
Not that he wasn't kindly, and a comfort to the afflicted. He just didn't cotton to whiners. Dr. Kretschmar, who died April 26, was my doctor for 25 years.We Will Miss Kretschmar's Care, Humor
